The first issue of the monthly magazine Domus came out on
15 January 1928 with the sub-heading: “Architecture and interior design of the modern house for the city and the country”.
Founded and edited by the Milanese architect Gio Ponti, the magazine was brought out the following year by publisher
Gianni Mazzocchi, who launched Editoriale Domus.
Over the course of its over seventy year history, the
sub-headings of the magazine have changed slightly to reflect the demands and interest of the times but the aim of Domus
has always remained that of creating a privileged insight into identifying the style of a particular age.
